Watercress is a superb source of minerals with double the calcium of broccoli and significant amounts of iron.  In vitamin A, it is comparable to the carrot.  Watercress is very rich in vitamin C. It is one of the best sources of vitamin E.  It contains Vitamins B, and D, and is also high in copper, sulfur, manganese, and germanium (a blood cleanser).

Recent studies, have proven that watercress plays a role in cancer chemoprevention due to the naturally occurring isothiocyanates. Naturally occurring and synthetic isothiocyanates are among the most effective chemopreventive agents known, and occur in a wide variety of cruciferous vegetables. Watercress is the richest source of a compound called phenylethylisothiocyanate, which gives it its unique piquant flavor when the plant tissues are damaged by the act of chewing. It has recently been discovered that watercress contains another glucosinolate, methylsulphinyalkyl, more usually found in broccoli and brussel sprouts, and that together these glucosinolates form a powerful anti cancer weapon.

Watercress is a live product.  With all other vegetables, the process of decay starts the moment it is harvested, while our watercress continues to grow in our packaging.
